Thomas P. Miller & Associates (TPMA) today announced it has signed on with The Knox County Health Department in Illinois as their strategic consultant to design a workforce development plan as well as a comprehensive strategic plan. TPMA is looking forward to the new partnership and thrilled to be joining the organization on its mission to serve Knox County by accessing health and environmental needs, developing policies, and ensuring those needs are effectively addressed.

“We are excited to be working with their team. Healthcare is a top industry in many parts of the country and it continues to be at the forefront of our minds in the pandemic and post-pandemic eras. We cant wait to learn more about the Health Department and how it can continue impacting the local community in a positive way” says Katy Battafarano, TPMA Consultant.

TPMA experts will be conducting a workforce gaps analysis, identifying needed staff competencies, performing a training needs assessment, creating monitoring tools, and developing a 5 and 10 year strategic plan for the department. The analysis, which is already underway, will conclude in June 2023.

The health department delivers services in five major program areas:  environmental health, wellness and health promotion, family health services, health protection, and operates a community health center.

The Knox County Health Department was created as a result of a citizen referendum in November 1992. Since that time the agency has grown to operate on a budget of $4.4 million dollars with a staff of 51. For more information visit www.knoxcountyhealth.org.
