Expand Your Impact

We create powerful solutions to help individuals and organizations reach their biggest goals.

We believe in a world that thinks strategically, works collaboratively, and acts sustainably.

Empowering organizations and communities

Thomas P. Miller & Associates (TPMA) was founded in 1989 on the notion of making workforce a major component of any approach to economic development. Talent drives prosperity. Strategic planning is crucial. Without a qualified workforce, communities cannot thrive.

We’ve grown since then. Our team provides expert consulting services and strategic planning throughout the United States, working with local and state governments, workforce development boards, higher education institutions, and industry associations. We provide integrated solutions to grow the economic and social value of communities.

We have worked in over 40 states. Our clients are wide-ranging from small rural towns, to state agencies, to educational institutions and publicly traded companies.

We are more than consultants. We are your partners and success is our mission.

Our Mission

We empower organizations and communities to reach their goals through strategic planning and partnerships that create positive, sustainable change.

Our Vision

A world that thinks strategically, works collaboratively, and acts sustainably.

Our Values

Our values serve as the compass that guides our operations, project work, and ultimately your growth.

High Quality

to hold ourselves to a high standard of original results in every client engagement, in all business development practices, and among all internal processes

to recognize the importance of collaboration and team work to capitalize on the strengths of our colleagues and our clients

to approach every activity with an entrepreneurial spirit characterized by innovation and thoughtful risk-taking

we strive to understand, respect, and encourage each other for the purpose of establishing a culture of trust and personal and professional growth as members of the TPMA team

Community Impact

to strive for the highest level of holistic solutions for our clients, resulting in systemic and sustainable impact in their communities and citizens

to live out the value of honest and open communications and interactions that will lead to consistent personal behaviors among each TPMA team member

Our Process

We translate data into action.

TPMA does this by providing our clients with the ability to link workforce, economic, and community development research and planning efforts. We incorporate tangible strategies with performance metrics and identify resources for implementation, sustainability, and growth.

Our greatest success is at the intersection of translating complex research, analysis and planning efforts into implementation activities tailored to the assets and opportunities of each client.

Our Projects

There is nothing sweeter than seeing our clients succeed.

A Note From Tom

TPMA has been in the consulting industry for over 30 years. People often ask me how. There are three things that stand out – talent, relationships, and results. I surround myself with talented professionals who have the capability to conduct sound research, design and implement plans, and evaluate results. I value lasting connections with clients that are less about profit and more about doing what’s right for the communities they serve. Ultimately, it’s about results – winning a multi-million federal grant, attracting a new business, designing a program that connects jobseekers to long-term employment. That’s what keeps me engaged and excited day after day.
