TPMA is currently performing a comprehensive Information Technology Workforce Assessment to strengthen the talent pipeline for IT in the Lower Rio Grande Valley Region including Hidalgo, Cameron, Starr, and Willacy counties. Our consultants are diving into workforce availability, educational programs, infrastructure capacity, and economic growth potential

“Our priority is for this assessment to be a powerful tool that local stakeholders can use to expand IT efforts, build a skilled talent pipeline, and attract new IT employers. This work is so valuable because the information technology sector is continually growing and evolving, especially in our new virtual world considering Covid-19” says Steven Gause, Senior Consultant at TPMA who will be managing the initiative.

“Through collaboration with TPMA, Workforce Solutions intends to foster the developing IT industry in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV),” said Workforce Solutions Chief Executive Officer, Francisco Almaraz. “In wake of the Coronavirus-19 pandemic, the world was forced to rely heavily on technology to continue operating, further emphasizing the importance of having a cultivated IT industry. Critical analysis is essential in shaping a strategy that will benefit RGV employers and job seekers.”

The assessment is already underway and includes intensive labor market data analysis, education and training mapping, stakeholder engagement, and an asset inventory of the four-county region.
