LAURA WALDMAN
DIRECTOR OF EVALUATION

Expertise: Evaluation
Team Member Since: 2015
What attracted you to evaluation?
I am a curious person who loves asking questions, so working in a field where it is my job to really dig in to what is going on in a program is really exciting.
What TPMA value means the most to you and why?
High Quality. Providing high quality data, recommendations, and supports to our clients is key for them to continue doing their jobs well.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by learning more about people, helping others, and solving problems.
What is a recent project you have been a part of?
We are evaluating the El Camino Education Alliance’s US Dept. of Ed. Teacher Quality Partnership grant; the lead institutions of the grant are CSUMB and Cal Poly. The grant is focused on improving teacher preparation programs at both institutions and supporting teachers in partner school districts through professional development. We’re conducting an implementation and outcomes evaluation using focus groups, interviews, surveys, performance measurement and outcomes tracking. Grant staff at both colleges are using the findings from the evaluation to continuously improve their programs.
