Thomas P. Miller & Associates (TPMA), a growing national research and evaluation, economic development, and workforce development consulting firm, is seeking a team-oriented, driven professional to serve as a Senior Project Consultant for the Evaluation Team. The Senior Project Consultant provides a range of support and leadership to the Evaluation Team including, but not limited to: project leadership/management, research and data analysis, client relationship management, methodology development, data modeling and analysis, report writing and preparation, and business development. This position is based out of our Indianapolis headquarters and will require travel.


The ideal candidate will exercise considerable independent judgment to design, analyze, and complete projects and proposals. The Senior Project Consultant will be part of TPMA’s Evaluation Team and will have the opportunity for ongoing knowledge development and growth.

Education and Experience

  • Must possess 3-5 years of professional experience in evaluation, qualitative data collection and analysis, quantitative data collection and analysis, and/or a related field

  • Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in a social science  

  • Advanced degree and/or previous consulting experience preferred, but not required

Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manages complex, multi-faceted projects and adapts project plans as needed

  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert in one or more areas, demonstrates intermediate content knowledge within Evaluation practice area and other practice area subjects

  • Conducts advanced research and analysis of qualitative and/or quantitative data

  • Facilitates focus groups, interviews, town halls, and strategy sessions

  • Leads project teams to ensure high-quality and high-value services are provided to clients

  • Demonstrates practice area leadership by designing solutions and executing team initiatives

  • Strategizes and executes business development activities including proposal management and representing the firm in interviews and client presentations

  • Builds relationships with clients and stakeholders, leading to references and add-on work

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent project management skills – including developing and implementing timelines and project plans, overseeing deliverables, and driving implementation in a customer-oriented environment

  • Intermediate experience in qualitative research, quantitative research, and/or evaluation

  • Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to high-quality work

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities – exceptional time management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills

  • Enthusiastic, willing to learn quickly, and displays a fervent sense of initiative 

  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

Salary and Benefits
