SENIOR PROJECT CONSULTANT

(Indianapolis, IN)

Thomas P. Miller & Associates (TPMA), a growing national workforce development, economic development, and research and evaluation consulting firm, is seeking a team-oriented, driven professional to serve as a Senior Project Consultant for the Workforce Development Team. The Senior Project Consultant provides a range of support and leadership to the Workforce Development Team including, but not limited to: project leadership/management, research and data analysis, client relationship management, methodology development, report writing and preparation, and business development. This position is based out of our Indianapolis headquarters and will require travel.


The ideal candidate will exercise considerable independent judgment to design, analyze, and complete projects and proposals. The Senior Project Consultant will be part of TPMA’s Workforce Development Team and will have the opportunity for ongoing knowledge development and growth.

Education and Experience

  • Must possess 3-5 years of professional experience in workforce development and/or a related field.

  • Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree

  • Advanced degree and/or previous consulting experience preferred, but not required

Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manages complex, multi-faceted projects and occasionally as project lead.

  • Conducts advanced research and analysis of qualitative and/or quantitative information, including facilitating interviews, focus groups, town halls, and planning sessions. 

  • Synthesizes information from data gathering activities to form conclusions, recommendations, and strategies.

  • Authors/owns the creation of client deliverables (i.e., reports, summaries, presentations, etc.) 

  • Strategizes and executes business development activities including proposal development and representing TPMA in interviews and client presentations.

  • Builds relationships with clients and stakeholders, leading to references and/or add-on work.

  • Serves as subject matter expert in workforce development.

  • Manages subcontractor relationships for successful project execution.

  • May supervise team support staff

  • Project management skills, including development and implementing timelines and project plans, overseeing reporting progress and driving implementation in a customer-oriented environment

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines.  

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities.

  • Presentations and public speaking skills 

  • Interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills 

  • Enthusiastic, willing to learn quickly, and displays a sense of initiative

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access

Salary and Benefits

Salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000 based on experience of the candidate.
