PROJECT CONSULTANT -
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

(Youngstown, OH)

Thomas P. Miller & Associates (TPMA), a growing national research and evaluation, economic development, and workforce development consulting firm, is seeking a team-oriented, driven professional to serve as a Project Consultant for the Workforce Team in its Youngstown, Ohio location. The Project Consultant must be a quick-study for business and industry training needs; specifically for an extensive first assignment related to apprenticeship. Additional skills necessary for success in this position include research and data analysis, client relationship management, report writing and preparation, and business development. Regional travel necessary.

Education and Experience

  • Must possess 3-5 years of combined professional experience working with workforce development, economic development and community based organizations.  

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree

  • Previous experience in webinar development and survey development preferred, but not required

Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plans and executes tasks related to building relationships with stakeholders while acting as an ambassador for apprenticeship programs

  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of funding source compliance in relation to project deliverables

  • Facilitates focus groups, interviews, and strategy sessions

  • Uses social media engagement skill set with platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

  • Builds relationships with clients and stakeholders, leading to references and add-on work

  • Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to high-quality work

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities – exceptional time management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills

  • Enthusiastic, willing to learn quickly, and displays a fervent sense of initiative 

  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
