Job Description

TPMA is growing our Project Consulting team to better serve the needs of our clients and the ecosystems we support. Successful Senior Project Consultants will exercise considerable independent judgment and be a team-oriented, driven professional who can lead the design, analysis, and completion of projects and proposals for TPMA clients. Simultaneously, the Senior Project Consultant will be providing support and leadership to the Evaluation Team in the planning, assessing, and delivering of projects. TPMA is committed to providing useful, practical, and data-driven consulting practices for stakeholders and clients seeking to demonstrate project impact through evaluation and measurement.

Duties will include project research and data analysis, client relationship management, methodology development, data modeling and analysis, report writing and preparation, and business development. Consultants will partner with internal team members for project coordination and will demonstrate expertise in Workforce Development, Research, Evaluation, and/or Economic Development.

Job Responsibilities

(include by not limited to)
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert in one or more relevant industry areas, demonstrates content knowledge within the Evaluation practice area and other practice area subjects
  • Development of deliverable structure and content based on the assigned project plan
  • Conducts advanced quantitative and qualitative research and analysis
  • Drafts and/or approves written reports, prepare and deliver customer presentations
  • Demonstrates practice area leadership by designing solutions and executing team initiatives
  • Coordinates with Project Manager and client to ensure successful project delivery
  • Leads on-site project work, including primary data collection, attending meetings and translating discussions and research into narrative
  • Facilitates focus groups, interviews, town halls, and strategy sessions
  • Leads project teams to ensure high-quality and high-value services are provided to clients
  • Ensures profitability of each assignment in conjunction with the Project Manager and Operations team; delegating work as needed to meet this objective
  • Ongoing development of customer relationships
  • Travel within U.S. may be required

Success Criteria

  • 5+ years experience in evaluation, collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data in complex organizations and communities, and/or a related field
  • 3+ years experience in workforce development, education, or economic development especially with program evaluation within the field
  • Passion for developing data collection tools, platforms, and solutions for measuring the progress, fidelity, outcomes, and impacts of programs
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to balance multiple priorities while delivering consistent results
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook
  • Displays enthusiasm, willingness to learn quickly, and a fervent sense of initiative
  • Demonstrates a high sense of urgency to communicate challenges, offer solutions, and deliver results
  • Previous consulting experience a plus

Education/Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a social science field, advanced degree preferred but not required
