Job Description

Successful Senior Manager will take leadership responsibility for developing team members to better serve the needs of our clients and the ecosystems we support. Senior Managers will work closely with the Director while taking ownership of all administrative aspects for the project consulting team. Duties will include reviewing payroll reports to ensure their timely and proper completion, managing and approving time-off requests, meeting with associates weekly, and partnering with the Director. The Senior Manager will assist the Director in identifying, developing, and implementing professional development for associates. They will also participate in conducting quarterly/yearly performance reviews, budgeting, business operations, automated systems (HRIS, SAP Concur, etc.), processes, and policies that will equip all team members to best serve the TPMA constituents and ensure all workforce capacity and resource needs are met.

Job Responsibilities

  • Handle administrative aspects of the team with a focus on the day-to-day operational team duties
  • Assist the Director in enforcing their plans, developing new team plans, and communicating updates
  • Drive flow of communication within the team
  • Provide resources, systems, policies, and information to create a successful environment where TPMA teammates can best serve our clients and partners
  • Aid in defining profitability standards and policies while measuring success of individual projects and teams within these standards
  • Conduct quarterly associate evaluations and help the Director with yearly evaluations
  • Organize and lead weekly meetings with associates to communicate and enforce plans established by the Director
  • Identify, develop, coordinate, and implement professional development for the team of consultants
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll
  • Approve and manage time off requests

Success Criteria

  • 5+ years’ experience in consulting on the design and delivery of projects, collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data in complex organizations and communities, and/or working in a related field
  • 3+ years’ Leadership experience managing teams while driving program delivery and organizational success
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required
  • Embodies and exhibits TPMA values
  • Project management skills developed through prior project ownership in any field
  • High level understanding of Economic & Workforce Development projects
  • Strong written and verbal communicator that guarantees clear delivery and understanding of information
  • Visionary thinker with ability to project future needs based on past and present performance
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi-task and self-prioritize
  • Excellent computer skills – Intermediate to Expert level in MS Office Suite and Adobe programs required
  • Maintains understanding of project profitability
