TPMA employees from around the country gathered in Indianapolis earlier this month for an all-staff training focused on strategic planning; race equity and inclusion (REI); and cross-team collaboration and team building.
We turned our strategic planning experience on ourselves and outlined our internal priorities for the next year. One of our biggest learnings from the exercise was that TPMA employees are invested and enthusiastic about the future!
RACE EQUITY & INCLUSION (REI) TRAINING
Evelyn Burnett and Mordecai Cargill of ThirdSpace Action Lab led an REI training with TPMA staff that focused on our internal company culture as well as the work we do with clients. ThirdSpace is a grassroots research, strategy, and design cooperative created to disrupt the vicious cycle of disinvestment and displacement that negatively impacts the vitality of low-income communities of color.
Although the whole retreat could be thought of as an exercise in team building, DISC facilitator and change management expert Stefanie Krievins really brought the point home, reminding us that the better we work together, the better we serve our clients, and the more impact we make in communities.
