A Little About Our History

Established on February 20, 1989, Thomas P. Miller and Associates (TPMA) has been providing economic consulting services throughout the United States, working with local and state governments, workforce investment boards, and industry associations to integrate workforce and economic development strategies to enhance the economic value of educational institutions, companies, and communities.

The firm's first clients were the US Department of Labor and the Hancock County Economic Development Council. Since its creation, TPMA has developed strategies that draw on best practices and proven methods that help keep organizations on track for a prosperous and sustainable future. Because of this strategy and a strong commitment to employing a grass-roots, hands-on approach, TPMA has been able to secure over $150 million in grant funds for clients. Most recently, TPMA assisted Remy International in securing $60.2 million under the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act-Electric Drive Vehicle Battery and Component Manufacturing Initiative." Over the course of its history, the firm has worked in 25 states.

Awards and Recognition

2001-2003- Indiana Growth 100 Awardee

From 2001 to 2003, Thomas P. Miller and Associates was named  an  Indiana Growth 100 Awardee by Indiana University Kelley School of Business’ Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.  The purpose of the award is to recognize Indiana’s leading high potential, high growth companies.

2003- Mira Award for Professional Service Provider

Thomas P. Miller and Associates received the 2003 Mira Award for Professional Service Provider.  The purpose of this award is to highlight the importance of technology in Indiana’s economy and the companies that lead technology-based businesses in Indiana.

2002-2003-TPMA named one of the top 10 fastest-growing companies  

For two years in a row the Indianapolis Business Journal honored Thomas P. Miller and Associates as one of the top 10 fastest-growing companies in central Indiana.  The purpose of this award is to recognize companies that have a significant impact on their industry and demonstrate growth and success.
