Ivy Tech/Purdue Smart Grid Workforce Training
TPMA recently began working with officials from Ivy Tech Community College and Purdue University on an important project with workforce and energy implications. Ivy Tech recently received a $4.7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy for smart grid workforce training programs to help prepare the next generation of workers in the utility and electrical manufacturing industries. The two institutions are developing the Crossroads Smart Grid Training Program (CSTP). It is estimated the funds will help train 1,500 students for the new smart grid programs.
TPMA to work with the Oklahoma Governor's Council
Oklahoma Governor's Council for Workforce and Economic Development Project
We've recently been selected by the Oklahoma Governor's Council for Workforce and Economic Development to conduct a series of focus groups with that state's employers.
We will be partnering with Monster Government Solutions in the development of questions and convening of the focus groups. At the project's conclusion we will summarize key findings and recommendations for the Governor's Council for Workforce and Economic Development as they deliberate current and future workforce policy.

In a report by Inside INdiana Business, Steuben County Commissioners approved a proposal for additional fiber optics infrastructure provided through Indiana Metropolitan Area Network, or iMAN. This was a recommendation included in the Steuben County Economic Development Plan developed by TPMA.
